Asian handicap eliminates the draw from soccer betting by giving teams a fractional or half-goal start. It's a two-outcome market that offers tighter margins than traditional 1X2 betting.
How It Works
Instead of picking win/draw/loss, you bet on a team with a handicap applied.
Half-goal handicap (+0.5 / -0.5):
- Chelsea -0.5 means Chelsea must win outright
- Arsenal +0.5 means Arsenal wins the bet if they win or draw
Whole-goal handicap (+1 / -1):
- If Manchester City is -1 and wins by exactly 1, the bet is a push — stake returned
- Win by 2+, you win. Win by exactly 1, push. Draw or loss, you lose.
Quarter-goal handicap (0.25, 0.75, etc.):
- Your stake is split between two handicap lines
- If the result falls between them, you get a half-win / half-push
Why It's Popular
- Better odds than standard soccer markets
- Eliminates the draw outcome on half-goal lines
- Lower book margin than traditional 1X2
